Heavy rain results in flooding in Kashmir, Gulmarg receives fresh snowfall

Heavy rain in the Kashmir valley resulted in street flooding and waterlogging. This heavy rain in some parts has triggered landslides. The Jhelum river on Tuesday morning passed the flood declaration level in Srinagar due to incessant rain. Besides, all major rivers and streams, including the Pohru Nallah in Kupwara district, were flowing close to the danger mark.

There has been a fresh snowfall in Gulmarg and Mughal Road. 

In the wake of heavy rain, schools across the valley have been shut. The regional Meteorological Department had predicted that there would be slight showers in the valley till Tuesday evening.
