Heatwave: Orange alert issued for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh

The Meteorology Department has issued an orange alert for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh due to a severe heatwave.  Temperatures are expected to touch 45 degrees Celsius in some districts. The alert will remain in effect for the next 48 hours. Surendra Paul, Director of the Meteorology Department in Chandigarh, advises people to stay hydrated, avoid going out during peak hours, and take necessary precautions.
