GST 2.0 is double dose of support and growth for nation: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the new reforms in GST saying it is a double dose of support and growth for the nation. 

His comments came a day after the GST Council approved a complete overhaul of the tangled Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

On Wednesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced sweeping changes cut taxes on a wide range of consumer essentials, medicines, and automobiles, while introducing a special high tax slab for luxury and sin goods.
