'They wanted me to...': Governor hits out at Telangana government

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan hit out at the KCR-led state government for "undermining" the Republic Day event as they didn't have any public programme. She claimed that the government wanted her to unfurl the Tricolour at Raj Bhawan itself.

"Telangana undermined the Republic Day activity. They didn't have any public program. They wanted me to unfurl the flag at Raj Bhawan itself. No public participation as they did not follow the SOP guidelines from the central government," she said.

"People are watching, and in Telangana's history it will be written that the Constitution is not respected," she added.
