Gold scam: Opposition demands Kerala minister KT Jaleel's resignation

The Opposition has demanded Kerala Minister KT Jaleel's resignation as he is being grilled in the gold scam case.

Earlier in the day, Congress leaders were detained after they staged a violent protest outside the NIA office in Kochi today, demanding Jaleel's resignation. Congress activists vandalised police vehicles and created ruckus.

Minister Jaleel is being grilled by the NIA in connection with his alleged link with Swapna Suresh, one of the main accused in the gold smuggling case. Last week he was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in the case.
