In a major development in the Goa nightclub fire case, owners Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra have been deported from Thailand and brought back to India to face the legal system. The brothers are facing serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 105 for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years. The FIR also includes Section 125 for rash or negligent acts and Section 287 for negligent conduct with fire. The Goa Police allege the management organized a fire show at 'Birch by Romeo Lane' in Arpora without safety equipment or emergency exits, leading to the death of 25 people on December 6. The report highlights that the accused knew the risks involved.
