Foxconn Row Explodes: Stalin Govt, Opposition Clash Over ₹15,000 Crore Investment Claim

A major political controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu over a significant investment by electronics giant Foxconn, involving Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Industries Minister Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa, and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss. Responding to the government's announcement, Anbumani Ramadoss claimed that 'almost 90% of such announcements that is made by the Tamil Nadu government is bogus'. The dispute began after the state government announced a ₹15,000 crore investment from Foxconn, expected to create 14,000 jobs. However, Foxconn issued a statement clarifying that 'no new investments were discussed' during a recent meeting with the Chief Minister. This prompted sharp criticism from the opposition. The Industries Minister has refuted the allegations, reiterating the investment is confirmed and accusing critics of attempting to sabotage the state's development for political reasons.
