Even as the floodwater continues to wreak havoc in Delhi, several affected parts of the city have turned into an picnic spot for children. Despite warnings, residents of the national capital are inconsiderate about the health hazards that the floodwater could cause. In the area around Shanti Van in Delhi, two children were spotted playing in the floodwater with their parents around them.
With floods inundating the city for the past several days, it is likely that dead bodies of stray animals are rotting in the water, thereby making it extremely contaminated and injurious to health. When asked if they are not worried about the health of their children who are playing in the floodwater, the parents said they were not aware of the health hazards and would not expose their children to such contaminated water again.
