Fake aadhaar, links with Gogi gang: Atiq Ahmed's murder probe reveals shocking facts

Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj late Saturday night. Atiq and Ashraf were in Uttar Pradesh Police custody for several crimes, including the murder of Umesh Pal, who was a witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case. Atiq was an accused in the Raju Pal murder case as well.

Big revelations like shooters using fake Aadhar cards to stay in Prayagraj hotel have come to the fore. Sources also claimed there was a Chitrakoot link to this murder case and that the Gogi gang gave guns to the shooters.

The SIT has also recovered two mobile phones from the room of the shooters, which are now being scanned.

If the remand of the accused isn't going to be extended, they will be sent to Pratapgarh jail.
