Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is likely to contest the Lok Sabha polls from the Haveri-Gadag seat, according an exclusive news break on India Today.
The BJP leader, who served as the Chief Minister from July 2021 until May 2023, may feature in the BJP's second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
The development comes as the BJP Central Election Committee held its second meeting on Monday to decide on the second list. As many as 99 seats of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Chandigarh, were discussed.
The party published its first list of 195 candidates on March 2.
