Will hold assembly polls following Covid norms: Election Commission | Watch

The Election Commission (EC) has ruled out the possibility that the upcoming assembly elections would be deferred due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the country. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said all political parties were in favour of holding the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls on time. The EC said it would ensure that Covid-19 safety protocol is followed more strictly in the poll-bound states.
