In this report, India Todayâs Sushant Mehra provides the latest updates on the pollution crisis in the national capital ahead of the New Year. Although the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has lifted the severe GRAP-4 restrictions following a slight improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI), the Delhi government has decided to keep two critical curbs in place. Sushant Mehra explains that âthe first one is no fuel to vehicles without valid pollution certificate in Delhiâ and the second restricts the entry of vehicles below the BS-6 emission standard. He further details the implementation of the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system at petrol pumps to identify non-compliant vehicles, noting that while the system is being inspected, the restrictions are strictly mandated. The report also confirms that schools for Class 6 and above have reopened.
