Delhi Pollution Protest Hijacked: Pro-Hidma Slogans Raised, Police Attacked With Chilli Spray

An anti-pollution protest at Delhi's India Gate became a flashpoint after some demonstrators displayed posters and chanted slogans supporting slain Naxal commander Madvi Hidma. The event, set against the backdrop of Delhi's severe air quality crisis with the AQI crossing 400, saw clashes between protesters and the Delhi Police, leading to 15 arrests. A senior police official stated, 'they not only use the force and violence against the police personnel but also we also first time come across that they used chilli spray against the police personnel and few of our police personnel got the spray on their face and the eyes and they are getting treatment in the RML hospital and we are taking legal action on that.' The BJP has condemned the agitators, labelling them 'urban Naxals', while the report clarifies the protest was not organised by the 'Warrior Moms' group.
