Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Friday remarked that India had combined elections until 1967, which made it "easier to make decisions". âUntil 1967, Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections we held together. This created an environment conducive for development. The decision making process gets difficult if elections are held separately. âOne Nation One Electionâ is an idea, we are exploring it. There is no harm trying,â he said while speaking to media on Friday, after the central government formed a committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the possibility of 'One Nation One Election' that aims for holding of general and state elections simultaneously.
