Covaxin efficacy determined after two doses: Bharat Biotech after Anil Vij tests Covid positive

Over 15 days after he was administered a trial dose of coronavirus vaccine candidate Covaxin, Haryana Health Minister and BJP leader Anil Vij Saturday said he has tested positive for Covid-19.

“I have been tested Corona positive. I am admitted in Civil Hospital Ambala Cantt. All those who have come in close contact to me are advised to get themselves tested for corona (sic),” Anil Vij said.

Soon after the leader tested positive, the vaccine developer Bharat Biotech issued a statement saying, "Covaxin is designed to be efficacious" and the clinical trials are based on a 2-dose schedule.
