Congress workers protest against party ticket to Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi

After Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely resigned on Sunday, Congress workers staged a protest against the North East Delhi ticket for Kanhaiya Kumar. The workers demanded a ticket for a local leader, while calling Kanhaiya an "outsider".

Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely on Sunday resigned from his post, citing interference by the party's general secretary in-charge and alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi as major friction points.

Lovely said while he respected the party's alliance decision with AAP, he was upset by Congress's North East Delhi seat candidate Kanhaiya Kumar praising AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
