Congress names Sonia Gandhi as new interim party president

Ending months of indecisiveness, the Congress on Saturday named Sonia Gandhi as the new interim party president.

The decision was taken during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Saturday.

With this, Sonia Gandhi has replaced Rahul Gandhi, who resigned as party chief after poll debacle in the recently concluded 2019 general election.
