China wants to change the status quo: Dr Ashley Tellis on Ladakh standoff

America's top Asia expert Dr Ashley Tellis said that China wants to change the status quo in ways that will advantage them.

When asked about his interpretation of the India-China standoff along the LAC, he said, "I think what the Chinese are trying do is to establish new facts on the ground. By pushing troops and material to the limits of their claim lines, they want to change the status quo in ways that will advantage them. And they are doing at a time when they are under pressure because of their performance in covid crisis."
