In a big jolt to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ahead of Maharashtra Assembly elections, Satara MP Udayanraje Bhosale formally joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.
Bhosale joined BJP in the presence of party president and Union Home Minster Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis in New Delhi. On Saturday morning, Bhosale met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and submitted his resignation as an NCP MP.
On Friday, he had announced that he would join BJP and formally submitted his resignation as an NCP MP.
