Two votes were declared invalid in the elections to the Rajya Sabha after a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) lawmaker said he voted for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's BJP.
These two votes were cast by a BSP MLA (it is unclear yet whether this was the same legislator who said he would back the ruling party) and a BJP MLA.
The SP and BSP had asked the Election Commission to declare the votes of BJP MLA Nitin Agrawal and BSP MLA Anil Singh invalid, alleging that they didn't show their ballot papers to the polling agent, ANI reported.
