The Karnataka BJP has accused minister Priyank Kharge of promoting cow slaughter and pressuring police officials to arrest anyone who opposes it. This comes a few days after Kharge asked police officials to take strict action against people involved in cow vigilantism.
The BJP cited Article 48 of the Constitution which says the State should endeavor to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard the forests and wildlife of the country to slam Kharge.Â
Meanwhile, the Karnataka minister hit back at the BJP and said, "Is BJP suggesting cow vigilantism is legal and the vigilantes of any kind should be encouraged to break the law? Try it my friends, Govt of Karnataka will show you the power of Constitution."Â
