A popular Bengali singer has alleged harassment by a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader during a live performance in West Bengal's East Midnapur district. The artist claims the leader, identified as Malik, rushed the stage and attempted to physically assault the singer for performing a religious song, 'Jagoma', from the movie Devi Chowdhurani. According to the allegations, the leader demanded the artist switch to secular songs. The singer and the team were reportedly forced to flee to Kolkata following the incident. This event has triggered a political controversy, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacking the TMC government, alleging a complete failure of law and order and comparing the state's situation to Bangladesh. Police have arrested the accused leader based on the complaint. Recounting the ordeal, the singer quoted the leader shouting, 'Enough of jagoma, enough with your jagoma, now sing something secular.'
