Basavaraj Bommai is Karnataka's new chief minister

The BJP has selected Basavaraj Bommai as its new chief minister in Karnataka. The decision was taken at the party's legislature meeting in Bengaluru today. Basavaraj Bommai will take the oath of office tomorrow.

Bommai's name was also recommended by BS Yediyurappa and he is also a prominent Lingayat face. Ahead of BJP's legislature party meeting, Basavaraj Bommai had met BJP's central observers Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and G Kishan Reddy.
