Atiq Ahmed gets life term in 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case

A Prayagraj court convicted gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and two others in the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case. This is the first conviction for the jailed don.

The court sentenced Atiq Ahmed, Dinesh Pasi and Khan Saulat Hanif to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh. While seven others, including Ahmed's brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, were acquitted in the case.
