Assam doctor thrashed by kin of deceased patient, association demands strict punishment

Doctors in Assam on Wednesday boycotted the Outpatient Department (OPD) services in protest against the brutal attack on a junior doctor at a Covid-19 care centre in Hojai district on Tuesday.

The junior doctors accompanied by senior doctors and frontline health workers staged protests by wearing black badges in the government-run hospitals of Guwahati, Hojai, Biswanath, Jorhat, Tezpur, Nagaon and many other places in the state.

Speaking on India Today's News Today with Rajdeep Sardesai, Assam Junior Doctors Association President Dr Sauvik Barua demanded punishment against the accused.
