AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government over the hijab ban issue. "Their (Congress) Chief Minister (Siddaramaiah) is thinking about releasing an ordinary order...," Owaisi said to the media while referring to Siddaramaiah's announcement of revoking the hijab ban in the state. The ban on hijabs in educational institutions was imposed by the previous BJP-led government under Basavaraj Bommai. The hijab ban matter is currently pending in the Supreme Court after it delivered a split verdict on the issue in October last year. The court said it would constitute a three-judge bench to decide whether the ban should be lifted.
