The National Investigative Agency (NIA) conducted searches at the Saket area residence of suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze in Thane on Wednesday.
Vaze is at the centre of the NIAâs probe into the recovery of an explosives-laden SUV near the Ambaniâs house in Mumbai on February 25. He was arrested by the probe agency on March 12 for his alleged role in the crime.
Following the searches, the NIA seized a car from the residence of Sachin Vaze. NIA officials told India Today that crucial evidence was recovered from the car. The NIA had earlier this week seized a black Mercedes car from a parking lot near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), and Rs 5 lakh in cash, note-counting machine.
On the condition of anonymity, NIA sources also told India Today that another person, believed to be a cop, was involved in the crime with Vaze. The suspect has been questioned by the NIA, sources added.
