The annual Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir is proceeding smoothly despite continuous, heavy rainfall for the last two days creating difficult, muddy conditions. According to officials, more than 2,40,000 pilgrims have completed the pilgrimage in the last 10 days. The adverse weather has not dampened the spirits of the devotees. One pilgrim from Delhi serving at a langar said, "Because the devotees are so excited about the Yatra that they are continuing the Yatra in any situation." The journey continues with significant support from the local Kashmiri population and the Shrine Board, who are assisting at langars and along the route. The yatra is ongoing from the Baltal side, countering any claims that it has been halted.
