Ajit Pawar gatecrashes Sharad Pawar's event, touches feet, asks for apology

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday gatecrashed an event held by Sharad Pawar at the YB Chavan Centre in Mumbai, to seek his blessings in an effort to reconcile with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The move came merely two weeks after the rebellion and consequent party split. After entering the event uninformed, Ajit Pawar touched Sharad Pawar's feet as a gesture of apology for the recent developments in Maharashtra, and other NCP leaders followed suit. Sharad Pawar remained silent. Speaking with the media later, working president of Ajit Pawar's NCP faction, Praful Patel, expressed the desire for the NCP to unite and said that they have requested Sharad Pawar to consider their plea for unity.
