AIMPLB opposes govt's circular to organise Surya Namaskar in schools

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) opposed the government’s circular to conduct a week-long Surya Namaskar exercise in schools and colleges. The board said that the Surya Namaskar is a form of puja and Islam does not allow it. The University Grants Commission on December 29 issued a circular, asking three lakh students in 30,000 institutes across the country to perform Surya Namaskar in front of the Tricolour under the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to mark India’s 75th year of Independence.
