A warm welcome home for Bansuri Swaraj for winning over 'New Delhi'

BJP MP-elect Bansuri Swaraj received a warm welcome home after winning the Lok Sabha election from the New Delhi Parliamentary constituency. A video posted online by Bansuri Swaraj's party showed that she was welcomed by her father Swaraj Kaushal as per traditional Indian customs. After she reached the doorstep of her house, her father welcomed her with a 'puja ki thaali' and offered her sweets. He then wrapped a red embroidered chunni around her as a mark of victory and hugged her.

Banusir Swaraj won the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat after defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Somnath Bharti by a margin of 78,370 votes. Bansuri Swaraj is also the daughter of former External Affairs Minister Late Shushma Swaraj.
