4 dead as ONGC chopper crashes off Mumbai coast

Pawan Hans helicopter carrying 2 pilots of ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) and 5 employees crashed about 22 miles off Mumbai coast today.

India Coast Guard 05 Ships and 02 Aircraft have been engaged in extensive SAR operation in area for missing crew/pilots of ill fated aircraft.

So far 4 people have died in the crash. One body was identified as Rohit Garg, DGM, ONGC.

The helicopter that took off from Juhu airport at 10:20am was scheduled to land at North Field of ONGC at 10:58 but lost contact with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at 10:35am.

Soon after Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan sought help from Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted saying all posible assistance is being extended in the rescue operations.
