31 dead after landslide near Vaishno Devi shrine in J&K's Katra

A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall has resulted in the deaths of 31 people near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred on the Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra track near Adkowari, trapping numerous devotees under the debris. Rescue operations are currently in progress, involving multiple agencies such as the Shrine Board, SDRF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and CRPF. According to reports, "the death toll has now mounted to 31 while 23 others are injured." The injured have been transported to hospitals for treatment.
