12 Opposition parties extend support to farmers' protests

Even as India battles the surge in Covid-19 cases, the ruling AAP has extended support to the farm stir being planned by Samyukt Kisan Morcha on Wednesday.

Ignoring concerns of pandemic spread, 12 Opposition parties have extended support to the protests. Some of the parties that are backing the stir are Congress, AAP, TMC, RJD, Left and JDS.

The Opposition parties are supporting the stir despite an appeal by Punjab CM Amarinder Singh, who urged the protesters not to stage dharna, calling it a potential Covid superspreader.
