UP to give land ownership rights to Hindu refugee families from Bangladesh

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has announced a plan to rehabilitate 10,000 Hindu families who migrated from Bangladesh. These families were affected by the events of 1971 and have been displaced for over 60 years. They will now be granted land ownership rights in the districts of Pilibhit, Rampur, and Bijnor. The Chief Minister has directed district magistrates to ensure timely action on this matter. The government stated that the move is seen as a "national responsibility rather than just rehabilitation." The decision aims to provide dignity, justice, and land ownership to these families who have resided in the state for decades.
