In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, BJP leader K Annamalai said that the State government and organisers have to take responsibility for the Karur stampede that left 41 people dead during TVK chief Vijay's rally.Â
Annamalai said, "It is the state government that has to take responsibility. The local administration has to take responsibility. Of course, the organizers have to take responsibility, you know, escaping from that fact."
Annamalai expressed more confidence in the SIT appointed by the Madras High Court than the state's one-man commission, criticising the ongoing political blame game. He argued that actor Vijay should not be the primary accused, stating, "I still don't agree to the fact that he can be made accused number one, it cannot happen."Â
