3 months after wedding, woman plots husband's murder, stages fake road accident
The incident first came to light on January 31, when Wazirchand, a local resident in Rawla Mandi area, reported that his nephew Ashish had died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.

An incident initially believed to be a fatal road accident in Rajasthan on January 31 has been exposed as a cold-blooded, pre-planned murder. Police on Monday arrested four people — including the victim’s wife — for allegedly conspiring to kill 25-year-old Ashish and attempting to pass it off as an accident and robbery.
ACCIDENT THAT RAISED RED FLAGS
The incident first came to light on January 31, when Wazirchand, a local resident in Sri Ganganagar district, reported that his nephew Ashish had died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. The police registered the case as a road accident.
However, inconsistencies soon emerged. Post-mortem findings showed injuries that did not align with a vehicular collision, prompting investigators to re-examine the crime scene.
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was roped in, and the case was reclassified as a suspected homicide.
LOVE AFFAIR TURNS FATAL
District Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan said the investigation revealed a disturbing conspiracy.
"Ashish had married Arju alias Anjali around three months ago. She was unhappy with the marriage and was in a relationship with another man," the SP said.
Police identified the lover as Sanjay alias Sanju. According to investigators, Anjali allegedly planned Ashish’s murder with Sanjay and his associates — Rohit alias Rocky and Badal alias Siddharth.
The video of the wedding ceremony has gone viral on social media.
NIGHT OF THE CRIME
On the night of the incident, Anjali reportedly took Ashish to a secluded road under the pretext of going for a walk. Police said she then signalled the co-accused, who were already waiting nearby.
The attackers allegedly assaulted Ashish with sticks until he lost consciousness and then strangled him with a muffler, killing him on the spot.
To mislead investigators and suggest a road accident or robbery, Anjali later handed over Ashish’s mobile phone and her own earrings to the accused and sent them away from the scene.
THE ARRESTS AND THE PROBE
Based on technical evidence and statements, police arrested all four accused.
“The murder was carefully planned, but the forensic evidence and technical analysis helped uncover the truth,” the senior cop said.
Police are continuing the investigation to recover additional evidence and verify if any other individuals were involved.
Charges will be framed accordingly as the case proceeds.
The arrests bring a grim closure to what began as a routine accident case, underscoring how meticulous investigation can unravel even the most calculated crimes.
