Building collapse in Rajasthan's Kota leaves 2 dead, many injured

At least two people were killed and several others injured after a building collapsed in the Jawahar Nagar area of Rajasthan’s Kota on Saturday.
Officials said around 20 people, including students, were trapped under the debris when the building came down. Rescue operations were immediately launched, and two people were pulled out in critical condition and rushed to the medical college hospital for treatment.
Authorities are continuing efforts to rescue those still trapped, while the cause of the collapse is yet to be confirmed.
According to initial information, the structure housed restaurants and was located in a busy locality, raising concerns that several people may have been inside at the time of the incident. The exact number of those trapped is yet to be officially confirmed.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed shock over the building collapse in Kota and extended support to the affected families. He said he is continuously monitoring the rescue and relief operations.
Birla spoke to the District Collector and City SP, directing them to expedite rescue work and ensure all injured persons receive proper medical treatment.
He emphasised coordinated efforts by all agencies. Birla’s Officer on Special Duty, Rajiv Dutta, is present at the site to oversee the situation.
