A man in Odisha's Dhenkanal district was allegedly stabbed to death by his father following a long-running dispute over ancestral land.
A father allegedly stabbed his own son to death following a heated dispute over ancestral land in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, police said.
The victim, identified as Khirod Sahu, had been embroiled in a long-standing family feud with his father, Bibhuti Sahu, over land and property. On the day of the incident, Khirod visited the Police Station to file a FIR regarding the ongoing dispute between them.
Tragedy struck shortly after Khirod returned home from the police station. Enraged by the legal action taken by his son, Bibhuti Sahu allegedly attacked him with a sharp knife and stabbed him repeatedly. Exclusive footage of the brutal attack has surfaced, showing the grim moments of the murder.
Following the attack, the accused father fled the scene. Local police acted swiftly and launched an investigation into the matter. After tracking his movements, the police arrested Bibhuti Sahu and took him into custody.
The incident took place in Kampulei village under the Kankadahada area of Dhenkanal district.
Reacting to the incident, the accused’s brother demanded strict punishment. “He is my younger brother, the accused, and he has killed his son. We want the punishment of hanging him. We request the government to take strong action against him,” he said.
Police are continuing further investigation in the case.
