UP teacher beats 10-year-old '150 times' with stick over homework, case filed
Police said a case has been filed against the English teacher after a 10-year-old Class 2 student was allegedly beaten with a stick for not completing homework at a private school in Gonda.

A private school teacher in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district has been booked for allegedly beating a Class 2 student '150 times' with a stick for not completing his homework, leaving visible injury marks on the child's legs.
The incident took place in the Karnailganj area where the 10-year-old boy, was reportedly assaulted by his English teacher, identified as Prakhar Singh, after he failed to finish his homework in the notebook.
According to the complaint filed by the child's father, the teacher thrashed the boy repeatedly with a stick. The father alleged that his son was hit "105 times", causing severe pain and swelling on his legs. When the child returned home limping, family members were shocked to see the marks on his body.
The father further said that his son was allegedly warned not to tell anyone about the assault and was even offered biscuits to keep quiet, with a threat of further beating if he complained. Disturbed by his son's condition, the father approached the school management and later lodged a police complaint.
Following the complaint, the MRG School principal said the accused teacher had been dismissed with immediate effect. "We removed the English teacher from service as soon as the matter came to our notice," he said.
Circle Officer Karnailganj, Abhishek Dabacha, confirmed that a case has been registered against the teacher under Sections 115(2), 351(3) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). "Special legal action is being taken in the matter," he said, adding that the incident occurred at MRG School under the Karnailganj police station limits.
Police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused teacher and further investigation is underway
