A controversial remark by Bhopal-based AIMIM leader Tauqeer Nizami has triggered outrage after he categorised Muslims into “three types” -- those who “lick shoes,” those who “eat shoes,” and those who “hit with shoes.”
He claimed that the first type of Muslim is found in the Congress, the second in the BJP, and the third in the Majlis (AIMIM), asserting that the “shoe-hitting Muslim” belongs to AIMIM.

'MAJLIS IS THE ONLY WAY OUT OF SLAVERY'
Nizami said the Majlis path is the only way to free Muslims from “slavery.” He claimed there are two shops -- one of hatred and one of love -- but said Muslims would get their rights only in Asaduddin Owaisi’s party.
‘MUSLIMS, WAKE UP’
Offering a clarification, Nizami said his statement was not meant to promote violence but was an attempt to free Muslims from “slavery.” He urged Muslims to “wake up” and said they should not become those who “lick shoes” or “eat shoes.”
“Muslim brothers, come out on the streets,” Nizami said, citing Bihar as an example and claiming that five MLAs were elected there on AIMIM tickets. He also said that in Maharashtra, 125 AIMIM councillors have been elected.

Nizami’s remarks triggered a political storm. Madhya Pradesh minister Vishwas Sarang said, “Who will hit with shoes? Let them try. Madhya Pradesh is an island of peace and this will not be tolerated. Whether it is Owaisi, Owaisi’s brother, or leaders of his party, they talk about inciting violence. They provoke people and do politics by riding on their heads. Such statements are objectionable. There is no place for such remarks in politics.”
