71-year-old US-based NRI murdered by fiancé's 'supari' killers in Punjab

A story of love turned into a brutal murder in Ludhiana, Punjab, where a 71-year-old US NRI, Rupinder Kaur, was killed. She had travelled from the United States to marry her UK-based fiancé, Charanjit Singh. According to police, Charanjit hired a contract killer, Sukhjeet Sonu, for Rs 50 lakh to murder Rupinder after she had transferred a large amount of money to him. Sukhjeet Sonu has been arrested and has reportedly admitted to the crime. Rupinder was murdered at her home, and her body was subsequently burnt. The police stated, "They recovered the bones that were lying here. They also recovered the mobile phone that was broken." Charanjit Singh has been booked by the Ludhiana police but is yet to be arrested.
