It's a forgotten chapter: Chief Justice BR Gavai on shoe attack

Chief Justice of India BR Gavai has broken his silence on the attempted shoe attack on him inside the Supreme Court on October 6.

He stated, "My brother judges and I were very shocked with what happened on Monday. But now it's a forgotten chapter for us." The attack was attempted by a lawyer during a hearing. In a contrasting view, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, who was sitting with the Chief Justice, stated, "I have my own views on this. This is not a matter of a joke. It is an unpardonable attack on the institution." The Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, also called the incident "unpardonable" while noting the CJI's magnanimity. The comments arose during a separate court hearing concerning environmental laws.
