Supreme Court Hearing Highlights: The Supreme Court on Tuesday resumed a hearing in the case concerning stray dogs in India. A bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and NV Anjaria heard the matter. At the previous hearing on January 13, the court said it was considering fixing liability on states as well as stray dog feeders for dog-bite incidents, while flagging the poor implementation of existing norms governing stray animals. It also observed that states could be directed to compensate victims, noting that little had been done over the past five years to enforce the prescribed guidelines.
