Rahul Mamkootathil resigns as Kerala Youth Congress chief amid harassment charges

Kerala Youth Congress State President and MLA, Rahul Mamkootathil, has resigned from his party post following allegations of harassment made by Malayalam actor and former journalist Rini Ann George and writer Honey Bhaskaran. Actor Rini Ann George accused the politician of repeatedly sending messages and even inviting her to a hotel room.

Meanwhile, Rahul Mamkootathil stated he had done nothing wrong and would fight the allegations legally, but felt he should resign as a "responsible party worker" so the party could focus on the upcoming assembly and panchayat elections.
