Panic in Mysuru: Heart attack fears spark hospital rush

A significant increase in outpatient visits has been reported at Jaideva Hospital in Mysuru, Karnataka, following a rise in heart attack cases across the state. Thousands of people have been queueing since early morning for medical examinations, particularly for heart-related ailments. The hospital has seen a 25-30% increase in outpatients, with up to 400 patients in the OPD department. This surge comes after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's claim linking COVID vaccines to the rise in heart attacks, which was later dismissed by ICMR and AIIMS reports. Healthcare experts emphasize the importance of preventive health check-ups but warn against creating unnecessary panic and burden on the healthcare system. They advise focusing on lifestyle factors and stress management alongside regular check-ups.
