Goa has launched a Longitudinal Cohort Study in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre and Oxford University to address non-communicable diseases. The study will cover 1,20,000 individuals initially, with annual sampling of 40,000 over 20 years. Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the initiative, supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for healthcare advancement. The study aims to investigate lifestyle, environmental, and genetic risk factors, enabling early diagnosis and intervention for conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases.
