Indian Army answers 'begging' elephant's call for help

A 35-year-old elephant, which had collapsed a few weeks ago in Uttarakhand's Nainital, has received help from the Indian Army. 

The elephant, Moti, was used for countless tourist rides and begging and one day, the jumbo collapsed. 

Unable to stand up, Moti's condition was severe. Its foot pad is separating from the foot base and kidney and liver functions are compromised as well.

Moti hadn't been eating due to severe pain and was on heavy painkillers and antibiotics. Gradually, Moti's appetite has increased, but it is far from what an elephant his size usually would consume.  

It was imperative that the elephant stood up as his x-rays were pending, due to which it could not receive adequate treatment. 

The elephant has been under the care of the Wildlife SOS team. On witnessing Moti's plight, the Indian Army decided to step in and help give Moti support to stand up. 

This would help Moti with receiving the treatment that he immediately needs.
