Immortality is a distraction, longevity is science, says Dr Avi Roy

Biomedical scientist Dr. Avi Roy discussed the future of human longevity, stating it may be possible to 'stay in your 30s for hundreds of years.' In an interview with India Today, Dr. Roy explained that ageing is an engineering problem and scientists have identified 13 hallmarks of aging that could potentially be targeted and reversed. He revealed that he has been taking GLP-1 drugs, typically prescribed for diabetes and weight loss in India, for 26 months for their longevity benefits. Dr. Roy described this as part of a personalised health strategy, urging people to use data and tools like AI to understand their health markers. He emphasized that while radical life extension has only been proven in animals, the science is advancing beyond supplements and toward fundamental solutions.
