Experts debunk Covid vaccine-heart attack link: Lifestyle blamed for rising cases

Dr. Ramakant Panda, a cardiac surgeon, emphasises that the increase in heart problems among younger people is primarily due to lifestyle factors such as smoking, poor diet, and lack of exercise. Dr. Chandrakant Lahariya, a public health expert, explains that while COVID-19 infection can increase the risk of various organ-specific diseases, the vaccines used in India are not associated with increased cardiac risk. The experts also address the development and safety of COVID-19 vaccines, noting that despite expedited timelines, established research platforms were used. They stress that the benefits of vaccination far outweigh any potential risks.
